My name is Karen and I joined EP especially to see if I can get ideas to help me with my major roadblock. I have many skills. I'm a degreed accountant with loads of corporate experience. I am also a technical writer, with lots of experience gained in my accounting positions (and college class). I'm even a good researcher. I want to do the accounting and writing from home, and make enough to support myself and young daughter. I have read many books on home business and have planned one for many years. BUT....I am so shy I can hardly even make a phone call to friends!
Once I've already made contact with a prospect (or friend), I'm fine, and I can sell myself pretty well - for example I interview well. Or I get my business cards printed and the person helping me expresses interest, and wants to keep some. I guess I'm likeable. But I just can't approach people. It terrifies me. Can anyone offer suggestions for me?? I'm desparate, because I need to start getting business now!
