I have contacted the colleges. I've advertised in the paper. I've sent out flyers, or "kits", explaining what I can do and how I can save prospective clients time and money, because they don't have to pay taxes or benefits, and I already have all of the equipment.
Everyone who has hired me to date, has told me that they are satisfied with the work I did for them. In fact, most of them have been repeat business. I guess my biggest problem is that I haven't found my "market" here, yet. Most people are hiring Temps, which is what I am, essentially, and so they don't advertise that they need help. They just contact the Temp agencies. I even contacted Temp Agencies to see if they had referrals for me, but they basically told me that I was in competition with them for jobs. Oh, well. C'est la vie.
I was just wondering if I hadn't done something I should be doing.
