I'm somewhere in the middle. I've been a work-at-home parent for just over two years, and my decision to stay home was wholly motivated by the fact that I had an infant. My decision to work at home was motivated by the fact that I like to work, and making a little extra money was appealing as well.
I think my situation is a little unique, in that all of my work is done over the internet and via e-mail or FAX. As a virtual office assistant, I don't have face-to-face contact with clients or customers. So, my biggest challenges at this stage are isolation and remembering that I am dealing with PEOPLE. When I don't have the opportunity to see a face, sometimes it's easy to forget that the e-mail address belongs to a flesh and blood individual.
