Oxygen.com has some really good information about starting a business, including worksheets to help you calculate start-up costs.
My advice to you is to make a list of your hobbies, and then make another list of the things you are trained to do (education, previous employment). Somewhere in those lists will be your business, and chances are good, it won't cost as much as you think to start.
